About Kamus Dayak Ngaju
In Central Kalimantan there are several regional languages which are widely spoken, including (1) Dayak Ngaju language, (2) Maanyaan language, Ot Dan um language, (3) Katingan language, (4) Bakumpai language, and (5) Lamandau language. However, in general the people in each district (indigenous residents) can speak Dayak Ngaju, although with a slightly different dialect.
In reality, the Dayak Ngaju tribe has been spread across all districts for a long time. They are also the reason why there are still community members in every district who can speak Dayak Ngaju as a language of instruction in everyday life.
In the Dayak Ngaju language, which is used as a language of instruction in everyday life, there are also proverbs. These proverbs are often used in conversations at meetings, official meetings or in informal meetings between families.
These proverbs are used as a means by elders to convey advice, teaching, warnings to young people or are used to break up the conversation of the other person.
When viewed from the perspective of the original culture of the people of Central Kalimantan, these proverbs have an important role because by using the proverbs in daily interactions, the discussion material will be more meaningful.
