amazing game, love every mechanic, just wish there was a way to keep your character attacking without having to spam. i'm a new player so if i'm wrong on it my bad

I played this game forever ago and was hoping to come back to my progress, and I went to the settings and pressed restore, does the restore button restore my progress or does it restore purchases? and where would I go to restore my progress by linking account? I was unable to restore my progress and I am confused if there is a way to do so at all
