About Registro ZPAEN

Registration ZPAEN is an experimental application that allows the administration to notify the non-collection of dead animals, so that they can be consumed by scavenger species of community interest, in extensive livestock farms, which have the corresponding authorization in the territory of Castilla y León.

This application has been developed within the framework of the Life Feeding Scavengers Project (LIFE 13NAT / ES / 001130 "Restoration of the natural feeding habitat of the black vulture and other necrophagous birds in central Spain"), in which the CBD-Habitat Foundation participates, the Regional Government of Castile and Leon and the Natural Heritage Foundation of Castilla y León, which has the co-financing of the Life funds of the European Union.

The application is intended for use by farmers who have authorization for the use of SANDACH (animal byproducts not intended for human consumption) in livestock farms for the feeding of necrophagous species of community interest in ZPAEN (Protected areas for feeding necrophagous species of community interest) in Castilla y León.

The use of these SANDACH for the feeding of necrophagous species of community interest is regulated in Castilla y León by Decree 17/2013, of May 16. It establishes the obligation for authorized farms to keep a record book with, at least, identification, date of contribution and estimated weight of dead animals destined for feeding these necrophagous species. The book model is established in Annex VII of the decree.

In addition, the owners of the authorized farms must inform, before January 31 of each year, the General Directorate responsible for wildlife conservation of the actions carried out in the previous calendar year, by submitting Annex VIII of the decree , which includes a summary of the contributions made.

Currently the application is experimental and can not replace the registry book (Annex VII) and the annual communication (Annex VIII). The trial by interested farmers will be used by the competent administration for its possible validation as an alternative method of communicating cadavers for the feeding of necrophagous species of community interest in ZPAEN and in muladares, replacing the registration book and the annual presentation of annex VIII to which the current regulations oblige (Decree 17/2013).

The application has been simplified to the maximum so that it does not suppose an additional effort for the farmer, but it facilitates the registration and communication of the corpses left to feed the necrophagous species. The operation is as follows:

High: The first time it is accessed, the farm profile data is filled out and sent requesting registration. The administrator (Foundation CBD-Habitat) checks the data and proceeds to register. From the moment of sending the application, the farmer can use the application. Once registered, to access, enter username and password (previously created in the registration). You only have to enter username and password if you have previously closed session. If several accounts are not used in the same phone, it is not necessary to log out, and you do not have to enter this data (username and password), simply by opening the application we can register and consult our farm.

Registration of corpses: clicking on the main icon, a screen appears to fill in the corresponding data. You will have to select species, enter approximate weight in Kg, identification number of the animal and make a photo, and the registration will be completed.

History, Locator of deposits and Regulations: Access icons to the history of deposits as a record book, to view the place of deposit of each corpse and other useful information related.
