About Vampire: The Masquerade - SoNY

The secret world behind the lights of the Big Apple is opening its doors to you once again. Your life changed for the worse on the eve of your Embrace and you are now a Kindred, a vampire, part of the Lasombra clan and thrown in the mist of the eternal political struggles of the Camarilla. This conflict is your reality and if the Ventrue Prince and her followers underestimate you, they will deeply regret it.

**Vampire: The Masquerade – Shadows of New York** is a visual novel set in the rich universe of Vampire: The Masquerade, and is the continuation of the story started in **Coteries of New York.** You don’t need to have played **Coteries** to appreciate and understand the story behind **Shadows of New York.** While Coteries was a general introduction to the world depicted in the 5th Edition of the hit tabletop role-playing game, Shadows presents a more personal and unique tale.

- A visual novel tackling themes of personal conflict, horror, political struggles and of course, what it means to be an undead.
- A continuation of Coteries of New York. See the familiar metropolis through entirely different eyes. Expect new characters, new locations and a fresh original soundtrack.
- Play as a member of the Lasombra clan. Master the shadows and communicate with the inhabitants of the Other Side, but beware – Oblivion is always lurking out there, ready to devour you whole.
- Explore the streets of New York. While you search for ways to satiate your bloodthirst, catch glimpses of various fascinating vignettes and forge connections with the eccentric inhabitants of the city.
- Shape your mind, shape your fate. You used to avoid defining yourself and tried to stay neutral, but given your situation, you can no longer afford to do so. The choices you make will alter the way you think, and your thinking will alter the paths you take.

Whether you're a seasoned veteran of Vampire: The Masquerade or a newcomer to the franchise, **Shadows of New York** offers a mature and atmospheric experience that captures the essence of its source material.

The New York games invites you to immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of the World of Darkness, a universe that encompasses the iconic tabletop roleplaying game and acclaimed video game titles.

Great writing (though it's short and fast-forwards) and an excellent soundtrack (reminded me of The Fountain by Aronofsky). Unlike the previous part, CoNY, this one features a single, well-written main character — but more than one ending. It remains a slightly interactive graphic novel. The story continues in Reckoning of New York with other characters. Strong WoD and Lasombra vibe, trading some CoNY elements to highlight new features like traits. I enjoyed SoNY more than CoNY.

while not exactly a 'branching stortline' with seemingly only two endings, its a fun ride, gets the feel of VtM.
