Between May and June, the fighting by soldiers and artillery shells will sweep away towns and woods, upsetting the lives of the inhabitants of Asiago and the plateau.
The Spring Offensive, also known as the Strafexpedition, which spreads across these mountains from north to south forces the population to hastily abandon their homes, taking only a few memories with them.
Upon their return, over three years later, the Asiago 7 Comuni plateau will have completely changed its appearance.
The destruction of the woods that took place during the Great War is comparable to the recent destruction caused in 2018 by Hurricane Vaia which uprooted entire forests.
