In addition, in the results, it returns values of Availability (expressed in Kgs of dry matter per hectare), Estimated instantaneous utilization (expressed in proportion of the forage offered), and Days to the next grazing (days in which it will be again available to be grazed). In turn, it complements the values with comments on the main effects of selected grazing on animals and pastures.
Use as inputs, easily estimated variables and income as; type of grazing or expected performance, as well as, basic characteristics of the batch of animals and the pasture in question.
To use the following steps: Screen 1. SELECT WHAT I WANT TO CALCULATE (Area, number of animals or days). Screen 2. SELECT A TYPE OF GRAZING ACCORDING TO THE EXPECTED PERFORMANCE (Restrictive grazing, efficient grazing or grazing for completion). Screen 3. ENTER INFORMATION (Batch of animals and pasture available) and select calculate. Screen 4. RESULTS (It shows the results and the complementary information to interpret the situation).
Its optimum result is adjusted to the following situations: cattle in growth and termination, annual pastures and greens, pasture with optimum "minimum" availability to start grazing, short-term adjustments (weekly), all these technical coefficients have been generated for Uruguay .
