Jari Emas

Jari Emas is a supporting application for the GOLD-ISMIA (Global Environment Facilities - Global Opportunities For Long-Term Development (GEF-GOLD) Integrated Sound Management of Mercury in Indonesia's Artisanal and Small Scale Gold Mining (ASGM) program – part of the global planetGOLD program that aims to to reduce the use of mercury in Indonesia to 15 tons by 2023. Through the involvement of miners in using this application, we will be able to find out the amount of mercury that is avoided from small-scale gold mining activities in Indonesia.

Through this app miners can:

1. Record mining results at each location, even if internet connection is not available.
2. Record the location and capacity of processing barrels at the mining site.
3. Knowing the total rock mined per month.
4. Get rewards in the form of points that can be exchanged into electricity tokens or phone credit.
5. Get education about the dangers of mercury and the best processes in sustainable small-scale gold processing.


USE
To use this application, miners must first be registered by the local Ministry of Environment and Forestry or the GOLD-ISMIA project team.
