The O-Phase LMU app is a virtual university and city guide for new students at the Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich. After downloading each route once, ideally via WiFi, the app no longer needs a connection on the way. The app was developed in cooperation with the LMU student representatives BWL / VWL WASTI e.V., the LMU O-phase team and Prof. Dr. Julia Nasev.
The app contains three routes with several stations: a short university tour to get to know the LMU and two tours through Munich to get to know the city. The stations contain text descriptions that can be heard via audio, as well as images and videos. The university and the city center can be explored either while on the go with the help of GPS or virtually from home.
The routes, stations, texts, images and videos were created by WASTI and the LMU O-Phase team. Responsible for the technical implementation is Prof. Dr. Julia Nasev. The aerial photos (orthophotos in 80 cm resolution) are available as open data from the Free State of Bavaria.
