StepByStep

Need to remember a procedure, or teach it to someone else? Want to experiment with voice recognition and speech synthesis? StepByStep lets you create a script step by step, then run the script and interact with it via voice commands.

First, press the Plus button to add a script and give it a name. Then, add each step, specifying its label, text, order number and next step. If the step is a question, you can specify different next steps for the Yes and No answers. As you build the script, the steps appear in order in a list; you can add steps in the middle of the order, or tap and hold to delete a step.

Then run your script. When you press Start, StepByStep reads the first step label and text and waits for you to say "Next". After you've gone to the next step, you can say "Back" to go back or "Next" to go forward. At any time, you can say "Stop" and "Start" to start from the beginning. When you say "Done", StepByStep stops listening for commands and (optionally) sends a notification with the start and stop times.

There are settings to control the language and speech rate, and you can specify new commands for Next, Back, Yes, No, Stop, Start and Done. You can turn off listening and just use the buttons to control your script, or turn off speech entirely for silent operation.

You can clone a script with the Copy Script option, or export your script to a CSV file.
