About MNAVegante

As a result of the management work of the exhibition project Aquí dreamed Blanes Viale, carried out in conjunction with the Museum Management, it is that, starting on November 8, the National Museum of Visual Arts will have an indoor positioning system based on Wi-Fi. Fi that will allow the "Amigo Museum" program to have greater dynamism and scope.

The project, developed by the final year students of the Faculty of Engineering of the UdelaR Federico Grunwald, Agustín Navcevich and Antonio Bracco, under the supervision of the Ings. Federico La Rocca and Germán Capdehourat, has been funded by the Area of Innovation and Knowledge Management of ANTEL, within the framework of the agreement between the Faculty of Engineering and ANTEL. We want to highlight the commitment of the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Ing. María Simon, who from the beginning was actively involved to make this project possible.

The indoor positioning system will allow to determine, through an app that can be downloaded without cost on any device with Android operating system, what work or installation the visitor is observing, and, based on this, will display written and sound information. All the sound records were recorded by Radio Nacional de Uruguay / RNU, in their studies.
In turn, the app will serve as a guide within the museum so that the person can make a tour as independently as possible. The technology behind this system is in its first stages in its adoption worldwide, which places the MNAV at the forefront regarding interaction with its visitors.
