About Powerful Prayer from the Bible

There are many powerful prayers in the Bible that have been made by various characters. Prayers in the Bible usually consist of prayers for protection, for strength, of thanksgiving and adoration, repentance, and many others. And all of these characters humbly surrendered themselves to God through prayers. With their faith, they saw how God worked miraculously in their lives.

All prayers in the Bible are powerful on their own. God doesn’t look at the length of our pleas and requests or how perfectly prayers were created. He doesn’t look at a person’s status in society but at the status of their hearts. God shows his unconditional love and unfailing grace to everyone who has faith in Him. The Bible is timeless and its words are our guide to life. So when we need encouragement, turn to these prayers in the Bible and be filled.

If you ever feel at a loss for what to pray, there’s no better guidebook for petitions to our Heavenly Father than the very book He wrote - the Bible. Almost every book in the Bible contains a plea or request, and page after page points to another reason we need a Savior. So, when you feel like you just don’t have words, turn first to Scripture.

Although we could list hundreds of prayers, we plucked out five of our favorite prayers in the Bible to show just how filled to the brim Scripture s with ways to call upon our great God. The Lord sends poverty and wealth; He humbles and he exalts. He raises the poor from the dust And lifts the needy from the ash heap; He seats them with princes And has them inherit a throne of honor. “For the foundations of the earth are the Lord’s; On them he has set the world. He will guard the feet of his faithful servants, But the wicked will be silenced in the place of darkness.

Do you wish you could pray like Jesus? The Lord’s Prayer is a blueprint to draw you closer to God. Turn to the “Our Father” and other powerful Scripture to build your faith. Let God’s word speak directly to your heart. Contrary to some secular proclamations, there are indeed certain elements that help maximize our prayer’s power and efficacy. Being in a state of grace and praying with great faith, humility and gratitude are a few of those attributes known worldwide. Another important element is to say the right kind of prayer. Praying with God’s Word, for example, is highly effective and beneficial. And while it is true that our Heavenly Father can hear even the faintest of a whispered prayer, there exists strong historic proof that certain prayers are answered more frequently than others; thus, giving way to bigger blessings and breakthroughs.

This prayer, because of its short length, is perhaps one of the most simple to recite. However, the Jesus of Gethsemane Prayer is one of the most profound prayers still recited today. Prayed by Jesus Himself, it demonstrates how we must accept God’s will for our live even when we do not understand it or like it. By accepting and obeying the will of the Lord, our lives will be transformed for the better. And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart. He said, “In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor respected man. And there was a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Give me justice against my adversary.’ For a while he refused, but afterward he said to himself, ‘Though neither fear God nor respect man, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, will give her justice, so that she will not beat me down by her continual coming.
