Based on natural disasters that often occur in the city of Semarang, the mitigation effort is by making contingency plans and disaster risk assessment documents. The contingency plans and disaster risk assessment documents are very important for every district/city that has a potential for disaster. The document serves as a reference in carrying out mitigation, handling during pre-, emergency response and post-disaster. An Early Warning System (EWS) application was made as one of the mitigations needed by the community. Early Warning System (EWS) or early warning system is a system established to monitor, detect, and provide early warning in the event of a natural disaster. Early Warning System (EWS) is a system used to alert residents or local communities to signs that arise due to natural events, either in the form of natural disasters or other natural signs. Early Warning System (EWS) is an application that functions to detect a natural disaster using technological methods, with an early warning, the presence of this EWS can help reduce potential hazards and losses that are likely to arise from natural disasters. The Early Warning System (EWS) is intended for people whose areas of residence are prone to disasters such as floods, so that people can know when floods will arrive in areas that are frequently affected by floods. Thus, the community is expected to be prepared to secure their property and belongings and can also reduce the risk of the impact of the flood.
