About Solera

50 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

In 1967, Don Mariano Verdejo Solera, with the unconditional support of his wife, Mrs. Generosa Monfort Ortí, founded a company dedicated to the manufacture of small electrical equipment in Hospitalet (Barcelona).

In 1973, the desire to approach his land added to the new urban plan of the city, led him to move to the small town of Cañete, in the province of Cuenca, where he installed the machinery he carried and began the manufacturing process with good prospects of future.

In 1984 Mr. Verdejo opted to open a branch in Paterna (Valencia) due to the growing demand from lamp manufacturers located in the province, thus betting on more efficient logistics.

Over time, the demand was changing due to the entry of Asian product and the growing demand of the construction sector, which led him to focus production on the envelopes.

In 1988 the administration was located in Paterna, thus being considered the headquarters of the company. At the same time, our network of representatives begins to consolidate in Spain, an important asset for Solera.

After the death of Don Mariano Verdejo in 1997, Don Carlos Verdejo Monfort, who had been working side by side with his father since he came of age, takes the reins of the company. From this moment begins the modernization and expansion of the facilities, adapting them to the new times.

In 2000, the regulatory warehouse that will coordinate and centralize shipments between the production centers and our customers and suppliers is inaugurated in Paterna. This warehouse promoted a process to improve logistics efficiency and delivery times.

During 2008, a new Paterna production center was inaugurated, with which the two factories increased their area to the more than 30,000m2 they currently have.

From the initial 2,000m2 of the Cañete factory to the more than 30,000m2 that occupy its two current factories and thanks to its 142 automated machines, Solera offers great adaptability and productive capacity.

The concern to provide the best customer service has led us to implement advanced techniques of demand planning and stock management, which is helping to achieve 98% in lines served. The recent adaptation of the designs of the load units, allows a maximum use of space, thus reducing logistics costs.

QUALITY AND CERTIFICATES

More than 50 years ago, Mr. Don Mariano Verdejo Solera implemented a manufacturing system based on quantity and quality, but it was Don Carlos Verdejo Monfort who, supported by that experience and with a new human team, organized all that energy and I orient the company in the satisfaction of the client, based on the continuous improvement of all the processes that integrate it, thus obtaining the certificate of company registration by AENOR in 1997 according to the UNE EN ISO 9001 standard.

At the same time, with the incorporation of a higher quality product, certificates from the most prestigious certification entities were obtained by AENOR, APPLUS, UL, Intertek GS, and more recently the TÜV Rheinland Certificate for the Europa series.

FUTURE VISION

These 50 years have served to become a modern and innovative company, proud of its origins, values ​​and human capital. We work every day to establish ourselves as a benchmark in the sector and to achieve this we focus our efforts on offering quality products and excellent and close customer service.

Competing in a global and changing environment requires a firm commitment to new technologies. In this sense, new software solutions related to the management of the relationship with our customers and suppliers and forecasting and demand planning are already being implemented in the company. These investments will be reflected in the improvement of the service provided to our customers.
