StudentMood is an experience sampling assessment system dedicated to monitoring distress and its correlates in student population. It can be used as a standalone tool for continuous assessment of mood and as an adjuvant to a therapeutic process.
The app includes self-report measures, physiological parameters and collects behavioural indicators. The app includes the Mood Wheel instrument (David, 2013) evaluating both positive and negative emotions, based on both the circumplex model of emotions and the binary model of distress (Ellis, 1994). The app also incorporates scientifically validated self-report instruments for evaluating various psychological correlates of emotional distress.
Students can use the app to evaluate their emotions and then assess their heart-rate to receive a report that presents the levels of the subjective assessment, behavioural parameters, and the physiological evaluation of distress.
