Democracy The word democracy is of Greek origin and it consists of two Greek words: Demos, meaning the people, and Krates, meaning power. Therefore, the meaning of the word democracy is: “the authority of the people or the rule of the people”
Democracy has many forms, so when the people exercise power by themselves it is called direct democracy, but if it is exercised by representatives or deputies, as is the case in Kuwait, then it is called representative democracy, but if the exercise of power combines all the two previous forms of democracy it is called semi-direct democracy.
Most of the leading countries in democracy went through frustrating and harsh experiences for many years until they reached the so-called solid democracies.
This is what we are supposed to follow in Kuwait by not being alarmed or unbelieving in our democratic experience that is still fresh in front of pioneering experiences, and most importantly not to turn to the frustrated voices calling for the lead of the constitution and the Kuwaiti parliamentary experience with the excuse that there are wrong individual practices. And the mistake is to find the path to success
I worked in the field of politics for many years and won membership in the National Assembly and the government, and during my work I learned about the candidate's relationship with the voter and his relationship with the deputy and the legislative and executive institutions.
I can almost assert that there are missing links between the MP and the people because the public evaluation of the MP is carried out every four years with the ballot box.
I can almost assert that there are deficiencies in the mechanisms of linking the two parties, especially since the world is developing daily, and the old ways since the establishment of the constitution to today are still the same methods used. And his pride is absurd
And after the global crisis that we are going through, the world will not be what it was..We need a national discussion that restores hope to souls and restores the nation’s parliament its confidence and prestige as it was a pride for every Kuwaiti. And the coming period will require popular, representative, governmental support to correct the path and bring Kuwait to safety after God’s protection and success.
The question is, will we wait 4 years to evaluate the performance of the deputy? Are there ways that create harmony and close work between the two parties?
And the end of reading and researching the experiences of democracy and peoples has arrived to develop a new idea in Kuwait that did not implement the idea of you (you are the deputy).
