Barrelhouse Radio is a new, independent digital radio station. Our mission is to bring together music clubs, DJs, record stores, labels and musical communities and act as a modern day juke joint for the sharing of great music and culture.
With two feet firmly planted in the golden MOBO era of the '50s, '60s and '70s, we will still look forward and throw in a few sonic surprises here and there.
Our presenters, (from young to not-so young), are based around the world and will bring to listeners a wide range of music covering many tastes and styles. From Acid Jazz to Zimbabwe Soul - and all sorts in-between. Whilst musical tastes and styles will differ; they all have two things in common: a passion for great music and the desire to share it.
Fuelled by mates, volunteers and clubs from the world of blues, soul, mod, jazz and more, we would love for you to join us in our musical adventure to be more than Just Another Radio Station. We aim to donate much of our airtime to user generated content - music provided by clubs, listeners and other DJs.
Whether a club, promoter, DJ, a collector of music or just a fan; we think Barrelhouse Radio has something for you.
