As of 2011, the Cultural Collective recovered as a cultural center a building that was built more than one hundred and ten years ago and that had been abandoned for almost forty years in front of everyone, in front of the train station. The emblematic place had been the first general store, the first hotel (1900-1943), the only cinema (1943-1974) and the cotton factory (1975-1978). Two seemingly intentional fires started four decades of abandonment and looting.
