The beginnings of Radio Rodzina of the Kalisz Diocese date back to 1992, when efforts were already made to grant an independent radio license. First, they concerned regulations in the field of radio frequency. After many procedures and fulfilling the formalities required by the National Broadcasting Council, on July 15, 1994, the Kalisz diocese was finally granted a broadcasting license via terrestrial radio on 103.1 MHz. The bandwidth allocated in the first stage of the concession was developed by Radio Maryja.
Finally, in December 1997, Bishop Stanisław Napierała established the Diocesan Family Radio as a separate institution within the structures of the Kalisz diocese.
