Soy meat is a food product obtained industrially through a process called thermoplastic extrusion or spinning. It has a protein content of about 50% by the extrusion process and 90% by the spinning process. It is a residue from the manufacture of soybean oil. It is used as a meat substitute, and has a higher protein content than this.
