This app simplifies the process of meter reading. The readers no longer have to record the meter readings on a printed list, but can easily scan the meter reading using the app and the camera on the smartphone. In this case, both the barcode on the counter is detected, which encodes the counter number, as well as the count or even the counter readings in multi-tariff counters.
The app then synchronizes the data to a back-end system, which both RheinEnergie and the real estate industry customers have access to via a web front-end. From there, the data can then be fetched and transferred to the secondary systems.
