On a voluntary basis, you can permanently and securely manage your health data there. The EHR is the personal digital storage location for your health data, like a safe for which only you have the key. Because you as the insured person have sole data sovereignty: you decide whether and who should have access to your electronic file. And you decide what data you want to put in and share. With your approval, physicians can file diagnoses, findings or medication plans for you in the ePA. If a doctor, therapist or pharmacist needs your findings or documents, he first needs the appropriate key, i.e. explicit approval from you.
