Novi glas is a coastal weekly published by the Goriška Mohorjeva Cooperative in Gorizia (Italy). For more than ten years it has continued the tradition of its predecessors, Novi list from Trieste and Katoliški glas from Gorizia, from which it was created in January 1996. The weekly's founding charter states that it must adhere to three foundations: originality, fidelity to freedom-loving and democratic thought, all imbued with a Christian ethos. Our New Voice is intended primarily for members of the Slovenian national community in Italy, as it pays special attention to events in Italy and Slovenia's homeland, but does not neglect emigration. It wants to cover the entire Slovenian world: the cultural, religious, social, political, educational, economic and sports field in which Slovenians are establishing themselves. It is therefore intended for all Slovenes who are convinced that we will survive in the modern world only if we remain faithful to our tradition, culture and beautiful mother tongue. Novi glas has editorial offices in Gorizia and Trieste, with more than a hundred collaborators, is widespread in Goriška and Trieste, in Venetian Slovenia, in the Slovenian diaspora around the world, and is increasingly present in central Slovenia.
