ARbraid is extending the artistic universe of Ruchi ANADKAT. Since 2009, Ruchi performs art installations with real Hair Braids and drawings to analyse the space. It leads her to the creation of a very unique and absurd unit of measurement and fictional mathematical calculations.
1 unit of measurement = 1 Hair Braid = 1 bdc (boucle de cheveux)
The App allows users to measure the space with graphical hair braids. The users can create, anywhere and freely, virtual graphics around which they can move.
By clicking images of the virtual graphics in the App, the user participates in an online collective creation.
Through this Art project, Ruchi ANADKAT is enhancing the following questions.
Does this App is a Performative Object?
How to document a performance? Can one consider these drawings as the traces of a performance? What is the difference between sculpture and augmented reality drawing? Is it a drawing that allows us to observe in 3D or is it a volume in space?
Can the users become performers to create collective artistic action?
