With the Weerwater Track app you can explore the Weerwater round in a sporty way.
This can be done in three ways:
- Challenge: here you are challenged to run a lap around the Weerwater as quickly as possible. The app tracks your speed and you might end up at the top of the rankings.
- Workout: a set of workouts can be done at all six bridges around the Weerwater. Walk from bridge to bridge to complete 18 of them.
- Tour: learn more about Almere, the Weerwater and everything around it. With this interactive (audio) tour, you will learn about the Floriade, art, architecture, culture and much more.
This app originated from the desire of the municipality of Almere to facilitate more sports activities around the Weerwater. Commissioned by the municipality, René van Zuuk and Reimert designed two circular bridges for the Floriade site. Part of the tender was to create an app for athletes.
