What is SafeBar? SafeBar is a shopping network that allows people to report, share testimonials, advice, tips and incidents on bars in Quebec. Our mission is to make Quebec bars safer and more fun for everyone, as our slogan says: An ounce of prevention is worth a liter of cure.
Users can post comments on bars, rate the level of security and report any incidents, including harassment. The information is then made available to other users via the forums, allowing women to make informed decisions about which bars to frequent.
Bar owners can also use the social network to monitor reviews of their establishment and take action to improve safety.
The idea for SafeBar was born following a repost of an Instagram story about an assault in a bar. This story touched me deeply. So on December 22, I decided to launch SafeBar.
