Oxygen Balance (O-B) regulation is one of the necessary homeostatic mechanisms for maintaining health. In order for the cells to function properly, it is essential that the body's pH is regulated within strict limits, as is the case with electrolyte regulation. Reactions between acids and bases are usually reversible, which means that the body has the ability to correct possible imbalances. Arterial blood gas analysis is a test used daily in clinical practice. The interpretation of its results presupposes theoretical knowledge of B-B balance, physiology and pathophysiology. In this application, we follow a practical approach, which aims to introduce the doctor to the terminology and basic concepts necessary to be able to understand and discuss the results of blood gas analysis. The presentation of many cases aims to adapt this ability to the needs of clinical reality. As an aid to the diagnostic approach, the application has a built-in calculator. It also includes a brief history of O-B equilibrium, a calculator for calculating the Alveolar-Arterial Difference and a video on the correct puncture of the carotid artery.
