Gambus is a stringed instrument like the mandolin that originated in the Middle East. At least the lute has 3 strings to a maximum of 12 strings. Gambus is played while accompanied by drums. An orchestra using the main musical instrument in the form of a lute is called the harp orchestra or simply called the gambus.
