Suggestions for hiking and biking tours on the Ammersee path and other offers in the Ammersee region. Information on the “hot spot” of biodiversity. Suggestions to experience nature mindfully, to “understand” connections and to enjoy diversity.
The app “Region Ammersee” will be available from mid-2021.
It is to be further developed in the future, supplemented with new content and functions and, where necessary, improved and corrected. Constructive advice and suggestions from users help and are very welcome!
The Ammersee region is an internationally significant “hot spot” for biodiversity. The last Ice Age not only created an attractive landscape, but also created the basis for diverse communities and high biodiversity. Many areas are under protection, but the region is still an attractive resort for locals and guests.
This app aims to draw attention to the special features of the region, to provide information and to raise awareness for an appreciative and careful approach to nature and the environment.
More than 60 Ammerseepfad info points provide information and suggestions for actively experiencing nature in numerous places around the Ammersee: e.g. on the shape of the landscape and its formation, on the plants and animals occurring here, on special seasonal phenomena or connections between climate, use, animal and Flora.
Seven Ammerseepfad tours link the virtual information points with analog information boards in the area. They vary in length and can be tackled on foot or by bike. The app's navigation instructions also guide you offline along the route. The starting and ending points of most tours can be reached by public transport.
Adventure / educational trails offer another opportunity to get close to nature and the landscape.
Nature observation towers provide special insights.
With the downloaded APP, the tours with their information and suggestions for excursions in the Ammersee region can be used offline.
The creation of the APP was funded by the Bavarian State Ministry for the Environment and Consumer Protection.
The operator of the app is the local action group Ammersee e.V., which gradually feeds the app with further information about the region.
