About Kamus Bahasa Bali

Balinese is an Indonesian language from the sundik branch and is more specific than the Bali-Sasak subsidiary. This language is mainly spoken on the island of Bali, the western island of Lombok, and a little at the eastern end of the island of Java. In Bali itself, the language of Bali has a level of usage, for example there are so-called Bali Alus, Intermediate Bali and Rough Bali. This happened because the influence of Javanese language spread to Bali since the Majapahit era, even until the Islamic Mataram era, even though the Islamic Mataram kingdom never conquered Bali. The soft ones are used for formal speech, for example in meetings at the adat village level, proposing marriage to women, or between low-caste and higher-caste people. The middle ones are used at the middle community level, for example officials with subordinates, while the coarse ones are spoken by low-class people such as the Shudras or between nobles and their courtiers. In Lombok the Balinese language is mainly spoken around the city of Mataram, while on the island of Java the Balinese language is mainly spoken in several villages in the Banyuwangi district. In addition the Osing language, a Javanese dialect typical of Banyuwangi, also absorbs many Balinese words. For example, for example the word osing which means "no" is taken from the tusing Balinese language. Balinese is spoken by approximately 4 million people. The Balinese-Indonesian dictionary is made to facilitate users in learning the Balinese language and to help preserve one of Indonesia's cultures in this case the Balinese language.
