We are a small school and community radio station that broadcasts from the Provincial Oriented High School No. 56 of Paraje Siete Estrellas, a secondary school located in the department of San Pedro, northeast of the province of Misiones, Argentina, in the border area with Brazil.
Our initial mission was and is to serve as a pedagogical tool in the teaching and learning process of our students, improving oral, reading and writing skills. However, at present and over the years, it fulfills many other functions that are equally or more important, such as containment, accompaniment to trajectories, means of communication and link between the school and the community, community services, training , etc. These tasks are extended to the boys and girls of the other schools and their communities with which we carry out joint activities, to the community of Siete Estrellas and neighboring colonias and to the listeners of our radio station.
Currently the radio works and goes on the air on the 88.3 frequency on FM and through the internet. Productions and information campaigns of general interest and stable programs starring boys, girls and teachers from our school and also from other institutions are carried out. In addition, we are part of the Misiones School and Community Radio Network (ReRECoM) which allows us to carry out joint activities, collaborate and nourish ourselves with knowledge and experiences with other school radio stations in the Province.
Our story begins in 2014 with hall radio activities, and we have been on the air since April 9, 2016.
In 2019 we obtained the Community Education Award granted by Fundación La Nación, which allowed us to start equipping our studio. And in 2019 we obtained the 8th Place in the Presidential Prize Argentine Teachers granted by the Ministry of Education of the Nation with which we were able to complete the study teams.
In all these years, we have verified the enormous significance of School Radio for the training of Boys, Girls and Youth, so our expectation is to continue working and improving so that this project that was once a distant dream, continues to grow to achieve more and more students.
