The SIPI app has been developed for people with various complaints who can benefit from a signaling plan or relapse prevention plan during their road to recovery. The offline version of this plan has been a fixed value within mental health care and scientifically substantiated for years. In doing so, people map out their own sources of stress. Based on 3 different phases - green, orange and red - the client describes the signals for each phase and how the environment can best act. People also think about how they can get or stay green in phase.
SIPI brings the digital translation of that early detection plan into an easily accessible app and desktop version. The system with the different phases and associated colors is an integral part of the application. The app is intended to be quickly at hand and thus provide quick support in difficult moments. This also encourages users to work proactively and to score at regular intervals. After all, timely use of alternative strategies increases the chance that crisis behavior will not occur.
Ideas about stress reduction are predefined in the app, but the intention is that the user will add additions so that it becomes a tailor-made plan. You can upload your own photos, add your own music and write down contacts. We recommend completing the app at a time when you are not in crisis, so you have the best view of what your signals are, what can help, ...
Once in use, the app offers a personal overview of which moments turned out to be (very) difficult. This provides insight into which repetition patterns there may be and how you can get to work to prevent them.
The app can be used independently or with a care provider from within our hospital. You can use it during your admission, but also after you have been discharged.
You can download SIPI for free in the Android and iOS app stores. However, a unique access code is required to activate the app on the user's phone or tablet.
SIPI is not a substitute for professional assistance. If you are struggling with difficult feelings or situations, contact a professional counselor. A conversation with the doctor can be a first step.
