This Market Information System (MIS) developed for the Benin Shea Interprofession (IKB) with the support of the National Secretariat of the Integrated Framework (SNCIR) of Benin, makes it possible to make available to actors in the Shea sector (Shea and its derivatives) information on the price that can facilitate their decision-making. These prices are collected in different national and even international markets. Once collected, they follow a rigorous validation process which ensures their reliability in order to be sure that the information made available to the actors is the best. The process for making prices available through this mobile application is as follows:
- collection of prices on the various markets by collectors;
- validation of prices collected and submitted by validating agents. The latter have the possibility of accepting or rejecting the prices offered. In case of rejection, an observation is made to allow the collecting agent to be informed of the reasons for the rejection;
- prices are collected for variable date intervals and by category (farm gate price, intermediate price and export price). For each price category, we will have the minimum limit and the maximum limit;
- the prices will only be visible to the general public (the various players) when they have been validated by the validator.
