The Building Inventory Tool (BIT) has been developed within the European Union (DG-ECHO) funded project ITERATE - Improved Tools for Disaster Risk Mitigation in Algeria (www.iterate-eu.org). It speeds up the process of collecting data of residential buildings, for development of exposure models, with respect to traditional tools (paper forms). It also minimizes errors and transfers exact information, such as geographic location or photos. It offers a possibility to complement and/or validate building data from census via large numbers of users in large areas.
