Explore the GraviTower Bremen Pro (GTB Pro), a laboratory for weightlessness! With Augmented Reality you will find out how it works and why research in weightlessness is so important for our daily life.
The Center for Applied Space Technology and Microgravity (ZARM) has enabled experiments in weightlessness since 1990. In his largest laboratory, the drop tower in Bremen, experiments are exposed to free fall for up to 9.3 seconds. Since 2021, the GraviTower Bremen Pro (GTB Pro) has been supplementing the offer at ZARM: More than 100 times a day, research teams from all over the world can expose their experiment setup to weightlessness for 2.5 seconds - or to different gravitational conditions, e.g. the gravitational pull of the moon or mars.
The "GTB Pro AR App" brings the laboratory for research in weightlessness directly to your home or your classroom! You can view the GraviTower Bremen Pro from all sides and even experience it in operation. In addition, it is shown how and why the Bremen drop tower and the GTB Pro work at all. Phenomena such as microgravity and the principle of equivalence are explained here in a way that is easy to understand. You will also get an insight into ZARM itself, which is a scientific institute of the University of Bremen and houses a fascinating range of different space topics.
