“What if I want to know which department is right for me and which department I want?”
***Motivation for developing the APP***
▶Personal experience: What I learned while directing mental nursing practice is that the only way for students who actually want to know if psychiatry is right for them is to stay in the ward for 1 to 2 weeks and see with their own eyes. It was about asking one or two questions to the professors and current students who were evaluating the practical ability of students. In particular, the majority of schools focus on finding a job, so they try to provide information about hospitals, but do not focus on aptitude for departments.
Also, what I felt while doing career counseling for many nursing students and new nurses was that I was trying to get a lot of trouble and information about the hospital to get a job, but I was worried about the aptitude of the department where I was actually working. It had to be just before entering the . In particular, I searched directly to get information on the characteristics of each department from a nurse's point of view, but there was a lot of information, but it was difficult to determine whether this information was reliable information.
The nature and type of departments required by departments such as psychiatry, emergency room, internal medicine, surgery, and operating room are obviously different. So, I thought that the effect of departmental characteristics on job satisfaction would be as great as the hospital itself had on the job satisfaction of a nurse.
▶ Research Results: In fact, a study that analyzed the causes of high nurses' resignation rates showed that, although hospitals are important, the characteristics of the department where they work do not match their personality, or they do not demonstrate their abilities compared to the competency required for the job. It is reported that job satisfaction decreases and turnover intention increases.
▶ Motivation for app development: To solve this problem, based on the individual personality type, the nurse's competency required for each department is well mixed, Wouldn't it be helpful to nursing students and nurses if we could see how much it was in numerical terms?' I even developed the APP. Therefore, as a nurse, I hope that the insufficient information to solve the concerns about the department's aptitude can be resolved a little through the application.
*The revenue generated through the application will be used for another research for nurses.
***App Features***
The NBTI application developed by the Nurse Research Institute integrates the personality required for each medical department and the departmental work competency required as a nurse through research based on the existing personality test tools. It has been implemented so that you can know where it is, and what percentage of the department and me fit.
♣ Find a course that suits you
♣ View the degree of fit with each department as a score
***APP DEVELOPMENT PROCESS***
The department aptitude tool of this application is a department aptitude test for nurses who have been tested for validity by a professor who majored in psychiatric nursing directly developed through mixed research (quantitative research and qualitative research). Therefore, the composition of the application may be somewhat insufficient, but the validity of the content is high. However, even if the validity is high, it is only an inspection, so please use it as reference information when deciding your own department.
