With an aim to increasing freight business, Railways have set up Business Development Units (BDU) across all Divisions. In these lines, this app is an in-house digital initiative by Commercial Branch of Chennai Division, Southern Railway of this, which aims at being a one stop place for all facilities and information pertaining to Goods/Parcels dealt in Chennai Division. The app provides details of all goods sheds in Chennai Division, the technical details and types of wagons available with Indian Railways and the various commodities that can be dealt in them, the various incentive schemes and transport products available to rail customers, parcel trains with schedules, parcel rates, and facility to seek approximate quote for any commodity to any rail destination. The app will be updated with various policy initiatives taken by Railways for the benefit of freight customers.
