The Lisbon Legal Forum reaches its twelfth edition in 2024. Organized by the Brazilian Institute of Education, Development and Research (IDP), the Lisbon Public Law Research Center (LPL) of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and the Innovation Center , Judiciary Administration and Research - FGV Justiça (FGV), this year's event will take place on the 26th, 27th and 28th of June and will have the theme “Advances and setbacks of globalization and new frontiers: legal, political, economic, socio-environmental transformations and digital”.
Academics, managers, specialists, authorities and representatives of organized civil society, from Brazil and Europe, will gather at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon (FDUL), in Portugal, to discuss how globalization has impacted relations between States, institutions, companies and people.
The Forum takes place annually with the aim of debating issues that challenge the contemporary State. In its twelfth edition, an overview will be given on how globalization has been encouraged or discouraged in some fields, the reasons for this and the impacts on Brazil and Europe. With transversal themes, we seek greater understanding of the challenges facing today's world, such as the environment, security, health, immigration.
