Insects Saxony allows users to share observations of insects found in Saxony. The app contains diagnoses and photos for 550 species, including all butterflies and grasshoppers as well as representatives of almost all native insect orders. All native butterflies and grasshoppers can also be determined interactively.
Characteristics and photos of the insects are stored on the smartphone and are available for species identification even when there is no internet connection.
The user can register with his account from INSEKTEN SACHSEN (https://www.insekten-sachsen.de) or Schmetterlingswiesen (https://www.schmetterlingswiesen.de/) and thus send a found report. Registration is also possible via the app. An internet connection is required for this.
The found reports are checked and released on INSECTEN SACHSEN. After approval, the find reports for the respective species are visible on the interactive map with the information quadrant of the topographic map 1:25,000, name of the reporter and year of the report.

- Interactive species identification for butterflies and grasshoppers using a detailed selection of characteristics for wing length, wing shape, colors and patterns on the upper and lower surfaces of the wings

Find reports can also be made in nature without radio contact and later synchronized.
