The HistoGuide application (virtual microscopy and slides) was developed based on self-regulated multimedia learning to prepare students pre-laboratory and during laboratory microscopic practicals. It guides students to draw and label correctly, including applying magnification and scale, complementing conventional microscopic learning. Collaborative elements were included in the HistoGuide application as well.
