We are talking of our territory, 21 municipalities inland from Pescara positioned on the first Apennine mountains and hills, rich in art, history and traditions, who now have joined together to allow them to be found, visited and loved in a more simple, practical and up to date with modern technology.
Authentic Earth is an integrated tourism project, created to protect, tell and also to enable us to preserve our identity, our heritage and our history. It brings together not only the 21 municipal institutions and an important number of organizations and regional and national institutions, including the Pescarabruzzo Foundation, the Archival Superintendency of Abruzzo and Molise, Pescara State Archives, the Pro- Loco and Cultural Associations of the area, but above all the best forces of the men and women of all ages are determined to raise awareness and promote their sites, with the ultimate goal to be able to continue living.
We have so much beauty to show and much to share with travelers attentive and sensitive, looking more real Italy.
On our mountains still are the ruins of citadels inhabited by the Italic peoples, the thick woods has mediaeval villages, on our hills are among the most beautiful Romanesque abbeys in Europe, our countries are treasures of beauty and hospitality. And again in recent years, young farmers and ranchers prepared and proud of their heritage have revived the ancient productions, so now forgotten cereals, precious oils, warm and enveloping wines waiting to be savored; our traditional cooking preserves flavors elsewhere irretrievably lost, enriched by an inalienable sacred sense of hospitality that always sees the traveler a friend and not a tourist.
The 21 countries of this important project have an old heart that wants to project into the future, to be discovered and loved. The invitation is open to all of you: we are waiting in our wonderful Authentic Earth.
