The Bahá'í Faith
Baha'u'llah - the founder of the Bahá'í Faith - taught that God is one, that all religions - the expression "constant faith in God, eternal in the past, eternal in the future" that humanity - one people who must live in peace and harmony.
The teachings of Bahá'u'lláh contain fundamental spiritual truths common to all religions, as well as laws and regulations that define the features of the Baha'i religion and are designed to address the challenges facing humanity in our historical epoch. The root of the problem - a lack of spirituality of people and their disunity.
God sends His prophets to people with a dual intent. First - to free the children of men from the darkness of ignorance and bring them to the light of true understanding. - Religion should be a source of love and friendship.
- Everyone is able and is obliged to seek the truth.
- Social and economic problems can be solved only on the basis of spiritual principles.
- The world needs an international auxiliary language.
- It is necessary to establish a worldwide federation of peoples to achieve universal peace and harmony on the planet.
Followers of the Baha'i Faith are directing their efforts to create a global civilization in which these principles are put into practice. Its really working model - Bahá'í world community.
Bahá'í community managed to avoid a split and decline, as Bahá'u'lláh has appointed the head of the Faith and the sole authorized interpreter of the Scriptures, His eldest son 'Abdu'l-Bahá (1844-1921). Later, Abdu'l-Baha gave Faith affairs leadership to his grandson, Shoghi Effendi (1897-1957), and since 1963, the highest authority in matters of faith is the Universal House of Justice - an elected collective body, the creation of which was envisaged in the Writings of Bahá'u'lláh.
At the local and national level, management also carried out collective bodies (Spiritual Assembly), who are re-elected annually. Elections shall be held by secret ballot with the participation of all the faithful, without the nomination. Elected Spiritual Assemblies do not have any personal power or privileges. In the Bahá'í Faith there is no clergy.
Russia - one of the countries that played a prominent role in the historical development of the Baha'i Faith. So, in 1889, a Russian court found for the first time in the history of the independent character of the Bahá'í Faith as an independent religion and defended her followers.
