Purpose:
The overall aim of this training module is to provide the student with a basic understanding of the field of Conflict Management and Resolution and its application – theoretically and practically.
The scope:
Topics include definitions of conflict, resolution and management; conflict analysis, third party intervention, mediation, channels of mediation, ripeness in mediation, negotiation, arbitration, dialogue, theories of conflict management and resolution, judicial settlement, traditional mechanisms, conflict transformation, peace-keeping, peace-building and peace-making; Conflict prevention and human right frameworks; emerging issues in conflict resolution and management.
