Tirana Walks is the project of Arba Bekteshi, rendered possible by a fund of the Albanian Ministry of Culture.
The aim of the project is to promote interaction with the city of Tirana through walking, documenting social and environmental dynamics, creating a digital space that favors creative thinking and facilitates communication with the general public.
The app engages in a sort of contemporary archeology by emphasizing the values and affectivities of the earliest expressions of architecture in the city. Its conceptualization comes as the result of Bekteshi’s continued artistic and academic research carried out in Tirana.
Bekteshi has also conducted mapping and psychogeographical research in Italy, Albania, England and Greece since 2016.
