About TKD Sözlük

Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who has an understanding of education that goes beyond his age, has raised our language to independence by elevating Turkish instead of Persian and Arabic which are used as the language of science, and "Turkish means language. One of the most distinctive features of nationality is language. If a person who does not speak Turkish suggests his loyalty to the Turkish culture and community, it would not be right to believe it. Dil
The intellectuals should take care to simplify the Turkish language, make efforts to remove the foreign words that pollute our language from the written and spoken language, and give importance to Turkish as the language of science. It is the duty of every intellectual to contribute to the creation of a national language of science. A lot of work has been done on this subject in recent years and every science has made a serious effort to simplify and simplify its language. The sensitivity of the Turkish Society of Cardiology is also known. Our association, which has dictionaries prepared and published before, has given us the task of revising the cardiology science language this year.
When we took this honorable task, we thought a lot about the approach we could take. Taking into account that there are many foreign words in Latin, Persian, English and French, which are embedded in the language and they occupy a great place in both our speaking and writing languages, we have reached the decision how to do our duty. First of all, instead of explaining the meanings of the foreign words used, as in dictionaries, we preferred to give them one-to-one Turkish responses. Thus, the name of this work was not the “Glossary of Cardiology Terms” but the Kılavuz Cardiology (Cardiology) Turkish Terms Guide ”.
We carried out our study based on the Turkish and English dictionaries of the Turkish Language Association, and the studies of universities and many individual publications. After giving the foreign words in our speaking language according to Turkish rules, we have written the Turkish equivalents which are deemed appropriate. We selected each word by examining it one by one, checking its correct spelling many times from the spelling guides or taking into account the rules of Turkish. We have written some of the most commonly used English words in italics and provided Turkish equivalents. We hope that the words written in italics will be found in Turkish. We did not always find foreign words and left them with the correct spelling.
The Turkish equivalent of many words may be odd at first glance. However, just as our Turkish language has rapidly changed to foreign languages, we will be able to refine these terms in our language through our efforts and the frequent use of these words. Instead of the words like condition, problem, answer that we used many years ago, today we use words of condition, opportunity and answer in a very natural way. We believe that the words that we will now accept will be adopted and settled in our language in the future.
Despite all our efforts, it is inevitable that there are many shortcomings and many points open to criticism. The feature of the language is its dynamic. It undergoes change and development over time. When we find new words, we will add them to our guide in the overview with the recommendations of the Turkish Language Association. We announced to everyone by e-mail that we were open to suggestions. However, we regret to note that very few people have come up with suggestions. For months of efforts in the emergence of the work for the chairman of the board Professor. Dr. Prof. Cengiz Yakıncı and Prof.Dr. Dr. Hamza Zülfikar, especially the Turkish Language Association Medical Board of Directors, we can not thank the members.
As with all subjects, a start is required in the language. He wishes that the Cardiology (Heart Science) Turkish Glossary Guide will be considered a step from this beginning; we expect scientists in the field to be sensitive to our subject.
