Tour De Ambarrukmo is an annual cycling event that was successfully organized by The Ambarrukmo, namely Plaza Ambarrukmo, Royal Ambarrukmo and Grand Ambarrukmo Hotel, fully supported by Dinpar DIY, Korem, Polda and DIY Provincial Government as an event that aims to strengthen Yogyakarta's image as a tourist and cultural city through cycling activities.
The Tour de Ambarrukmo is successfully held every year, for three consecutive years starting in 2017, one of which is shown by the increasing number of TDA participants every year, namely 600 cyclists in the first year of 2017, as many as 800 cyclists in 2018, and in 2019, followed by 1600 cyclists, double the number of participants in the previous year. Through this event, cyclists are invited to cycle through several tourist icons in Yogyakarta so that they can experience firsthand while on a trip route that spans hundreds of kilometers.
Tour De Ambarrukmo is expected to have a positive impact on increasing tourist visits to Yogyakarta and further introduce Yogyakarta as a cultural, historical, culinary and shopping tourism destination. There is a diversity of categories of tourists visiting Yogyakarta, not only cultural interests, natural destinations, but also special interests in sports by organizing this Tour de Ambarrukmo. Every great potential in Yogyakarta, with all the strong impressions, it is hoped that Yogyakarta will become better known both nationally and internationally through this Tour De Ambarrukmo event.
Tour De Ambarrukmo 2022 is the first bicycle event since the pandemic. Because this is the first activity since the pandemic, the participants are limited to 500 participants who cover a distance of 115 kilometers.
