About Yellowstone Wolves 2020

Yellowstone Wolves 2020 celebrates the 25th year since the Wolves were reintroduced into Yellowstone NP in 1995. In those 25 years, there has been a tradition of an annual chart giving a snapshot of the Wolves in the Park. This app brings the content of the 2020 chart to mobile device users. Version 1.2 adds support for large-screen devices (e.g., Chromebook) & keyboard support.

$1 from each app sold is donated directly to the Yellowstone Wolf Project.

The app provides a map showing the locations of the Packs throughout the Park. You can touch the icon at the top right of the screen to see statistics of the content of the app. The map can be zoomed & panned. You can either touch one of the Pack Territories to see the information for that Pack or touch the Details icon at the bottom of the screen to see information for all Packs.

The Details screen shows the Pack information at the top & information about the Wolves at the bottom; both of which can be paged. You can get statistics about the Pack & a legend by touching the top right icon. You can touch the Yellowstone SPOTR icon at the top to see Pullouts where the Pack might be seen. In addition, from Yellowstone SPOTR, you can send a request to Yellowstone Wolves 2020 to show which Packs might be seen from a Pullout.

The Search function allows you to select criteria to see a specific set of Packs & Wolves in the Details screen. You can touch an icon at the top of the Details screen to see statistics of the selected set of Packs & Wolves. For example, you could search for all collared Wolves or all Wolves with a specific coat color.

Other material contained on the chart is in the About section of the app. This includes explanations, descriptions, legends & contact information. For example, you can get information on how to identify Packs and what coat colors are for each Wolf. You can find out how to be a part of the Wolf Restoration managed by the Yellowstone Wolf Project. This section also contains information about the Yellowstone Wolf Family Tree, a collection of the previous years' charts & the current year's plastic-laminated Wolf chart.

Wi-Fi access is not needed to use the app.
