With the Contact Physician app, citizens in municipal care will have the opportunity to conduct video consultation with GPs. An employee can queue on behalf of a citizen in a nursing center, for example. This may be necessary if the citizen does not have NemID, or for other reasons is not able to contact the doctor himself (via the My Doctor app).
Each municipality decides whether the app should be accessible to its employees and which professional groups can use the app. In addition, an agreement must be made between the municipal units and the relevant medical clinics. Practitioners receive users of both the Contact Doctor app and the My Doctor app in the clinic's virtual waiting room. Each clinic must offer video consultation and be open to the virtual waiting room before an employee can queue at the clinic on behalf of a citizen.
Support is provided by each municipality's own support / IT department. Inquiries are made via the channels and within the opening hours that the municipality's employees already know.
The app is developed and operated in collaboration between the Practitioner Doctors Organization of Copenhagen.
