The Settal platform was developed by the UCG to participate in improving the living environment, by establishing a citizen control device, information and awareness of eco-citizenship. The specific objectives are thus creating a communication interface and information between the users of public services and central administration; the establishment of a collaborative platform for monitoring the cleanliness and intervention between the various target state departments of Senegal; strengthening the monitoring and evaluation of solid waste management device.
Settal is also as a citizen participation mechanism in the effort to safety and a means of promoting eco-responsibility.
Settal interconnects environmental emergencies, the hygiene services, the gendarmerie, the police, ONAS, and all other services of the central government and devolved while giving local authorities the relevant local information for better management of their city .
Settal is a flagship project of the coordination unit of the solid waste management (UCG) in partnership with the Ministry of Local Governance, Development and Planning; the Ministry of Environment and Classified Establishments; the Interior Ministry, the Ministry of Sanitation and Water, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications and the third state departments of Senegal.
