About Silverland

Silverland is the ideal continuation of Life, death and miracles. the art of longevity, exhibition poster designed by Carlo Antonelli program in collaboration with Anna Daneri for the Museum of Contemporary Art Villa Croce in Genova for the 2018-2019 biennium, hampered in its realization right after this show.

The proposed model was based on the consideration that in order to be more inclusive, a museum of contemporary art today is to cross different fields of knowledge, especially in a city like Genoa, not particularly receptive to contemporary art. Through cross-cutting approaches, the idea was to gradually touch some sensitive thematic hubs for the territory, in order to "rivascolizzare" the place, with a view to creating synergies with research institutes, universities and museums and the Italian-French Riviera

In the exhibition, the visual narratives of the fourth and fifth stages of life of artists born in Genoa or in connection with Liguria - Renata Boero, Lisetta Carmi, Franco Mazzucchelli, Corrado Levi, Elisa Montessori, Anna Oberto, Rudolf Bonnet, who are joined the thirty year old Cloud Ravera, Marco Bruzzone and 'coastal' Jean Dupuy with a special participation - were detonated as solid proof of a thesis resulting from a complex and detailed collection of scientific works on research in progress in Genoa on senility.

The exhibition featured audio interviews and speeches of: Massimiliano Valerii (general director of Censis), Valter Longo (argument superstar and director of the Institute of Longevity of Los Angeles, and bestselling author of The Longevity Diet published worldwide) Stefano Gustinchich the Italian Institute of Technology (geneticist and "fighter" against cellular degeneration of Parkinson's and Alzheimer's), Alberto Pilotto and Patrick Odetti (pri seas geriatrics respectively Galliera Hospital and the Hospital San Martino), Massimo Livi Bacci (large dean of demographic studies), Franca Rossi Galli (sexologist of the third age), Nicholas Casiddu (design teacher of the "silver economy" at the Faculty of Architecture), Carla Costanzi (sociologist), Lucio Ghio (primary psychiatric dell ' Galliera Hospital).

The evidence of the exceptional population of the city of Genoa as a world laboratory for new length of life and its implications means that it represents the total vanguard: as stated by Valter Longo, "Genoa is America in 30 years, is the entire Western world 2040 '. Only then in fact the planet comes to the current percentage of Genoa: that 40% of the population over 65 years, since it already now the oldest cities in Europe and one of the top five in the world. The information apparatus of the exhibition, present here either exhaustive, reaping the fruit of seminars held during the public program, draws such a huge diorama that comes to expand the idea of Genoa as the absolute capital for so-called "silver foxes "between the present and the middle of this century, and also sketch a concrete and sensational platform for its economic, tourist and residential city.
Hooray, then. In this euphoric climate, meaningful work between 80 and 100 years takes a new light, helped by the exponential development of personalized medicine, the nutrigenetics and digital and technological research in general.

The last living generation that has witnessed the horrors of World War II is free of such burdens and endless dell'inservibilità of waiting to find joys and unexpected freedom.

The Silverland observer is thus accompanied the discovery of the universe senile and its creative expressions discovering the different installations conceived by artists specifically for the exhibition.

Have a good trip.
