The history of the formation of IKA FTI UMI, is based on a shared desire to gather alumni who have completed their studies at the Faculty of Industrial Technology, Universitas Muslim Indonesia.
In 1994, the IKA FTI UMI was formed, which was held by way of deliberation and consensus and Ir. Larisang as the first general chairman of IKA FTI UMI with the management period from 1994 to 1996. then continued again by Ir. Wiyono as general chairman with a term of management In 1996-1998, over time the management of IKA FTI UMI had a temporary vacuum, then Ir. Suradi as acting head of the IKA FTI UMI for an indefinite period of time. Then in 2017 along with the holding of the IKA FTI UMI Silatnas, the 2nd Deliberation of the IKA FTI UMI was held. Yang mn is sovereign Ir. Fahrudin Wahid as general chairman of IKA FTI UMI for the period 2017-2021. Then in 2022, the third general meeting was held where Ir Amran Wahid was elected as the general chairman of the IKA FTI UMI for the period 2022-2026.
